LARUE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL NEWS
CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TEACHERS OF THE YEAR

Three LaRue County teachers have been awarded the 2013 Excellence in Teaching Award.    Representing LCHS is Josh Henderson, representing LCMS is Christina Boone, and representing HES is David Edwards.  The 2013 Excellence in Teaching Awards Program was held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 on the campus of Campbellsville University.

Campbellsville University began the Excellence in Teaching (EIT) awards program in 1987. The purpose of the EIT program is to recognize quality teaching and learning taking place throughout Kentucky. Through the awards program, the University honors teachers in each grade level (pre-school/elementary, middle, and secondary) selected by their district. Over 2,000 teachers have been honored since the program's inception.

2013 GRADUATING CLASS

The LaRue County Public Schools wants to recognize our 2013 Senior Class for their hardwork and dedication.  Graduation ceremonies will begin at 8 pm on Friday, May 24th.  The gates to the football field will open at 6:30 pm.  No reserved seating or saving seats, but seating for handicapped will be available. Seating for approximately 1500 will be available.  Once seating is full, standing room will be available on the track.  Handicapped parking will be in the gravel lot behind the high school.  Overflow parking will be at LaRue County Parks and Recreation.  No lawnchairs or bringing your own blankets for seating on the field. Seating on field level will only be allowed on seating provided.  Standing will not be allowed on the football field. Two standing sections will be roped off on the track at each end of the stadium.  Graduates have asked that the ceremony remain respectful, so all forms of congratulations are being asked to be held until the end of the ceremony, during the recessional.  Please honor their request so that the ceremony may remain respectful and dignified. Spectators that scream and shout or that have air horns will be asked to leave and escorted out by the police

2013 Senior Class Trip

The LCHS 2013 Senior Class took their turn at touring New York City the weekend of April 26th.  The trip provided a great opportunity for students to see a part of America's history as well as experience the lights and sounds of one of America's most influential cities.  The high school makes this trip available to seniors every year.  You can tell what a great time they had.  Thanks to Rex Hanson for helping coordinate the trip and to groupphotos.com for providing the picture.
